This error can be caused by Antivirus software<\/strong>. Three known causes of the problem are Bitdefender Total Security<\/strong>, TOTAL AV<\/strong> and G DATA INTERNET SECURITY<\/strong>.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
  1. If you’re using Bitdefender<\/strong><\/a><\/li>
  2. If you’re using TOTAL AV<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  3. If you’re using G DATA INTERNET SECURITY<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  4. If you’re using F-Secure SAFE<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  5. If you’re not using the antivirus software above<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you’re using Bitdefender:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    We contacted Bitdefender team immediately when we found this problem, and Bitdefender team has resolved this issue in Bitdefender version 23.0.22.97<\/strong>. <\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    To resolve this issue, you need to verify the build number of Bitdefender on your PC first by right-clicking<\/strong> on the Bitdefender icon in the Notification Area and select About<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If the build version of Bitdefender on your PC is lower than 23.0.22.97<\/strong>, you should update Bitdefender first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To update Bitdefender, right-click<\/strong> on the Bitdefender icon in the Notification Area and select Update Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If the build version of Bitdefender on your PC is 23.0.22.97 or higher but this issue persists, please follow the steps below to resolve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1) In Bitdefender<\/strong>, Navigate to the Protection <\/strong>panel. Then select Exceptions<\/strong> in the ONLINE THREAT PREVENTION<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2) Type dow1.drivereasy.com<\/strong> in the box and click ADD<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3) Type dow2.drivereasy.com<\/strong> in the box and click ADD<\/strong>. Then click SAVE<\/strong> to save the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Normally, you can resolve this issue after adding the two domains above to the exception list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you’re using TOTAL AV:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Recently, we’ve noticed that this issue may also be triggered by TOTAL AV. Our technical support team is communicating with the TOTAL AV team, hoping they can fix this issue in the next release of TOTAL AV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Currently, you can temporarily turn off the web shield feature in TOTAL AV<\/strong> so that you can download drivers with Driver Easy. Here is how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1) Launch TOTAL AV. Click the gear icon<\/strong> to open its settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2) Locate the Web Shield feature<\/strong> and turn it off<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    3) Launch Driver Easy to download drivers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Normally, after temporarily disabling the web shield feature, you should be able to download drivers in Driver Easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please remember to turn on the web shield feature<\/strong> after you successfully downloaded drivers with Driver Easy.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    If you’re using G DATA INTERNET SECURITY:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Recently, one of our users have reported that this issue may also be triggered by G DATA INTERNET SECURITY. Our technical support team is communicating with the G DATA INTERNET SECURITY team, hoping they can fix this issue in the next release of G DATA INTERNET SECURITY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To resolve this issue, you need to add dow1.drivereasy.com<\/strong> and dow2.drivereasy.com<\/strong> to the exception list of G DATA INTERNET SECURITY. Here is how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1) Launch G DATA INTERNET SECURITY. Under SecurityCenter<\/strong>, click the gear button<\/strong> to go to its settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2) Navigate to the Web protection<\/strong> tab, then click Exceptions…<\/strong> next to Scan web content<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3) Click New…<\/strong>, then type dow1.drivereasy.com<\/strong> and click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4) Click New…<\/strong> again, type dow2.drivereasy.com<\/strong> and click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5) Save the changes and run Driver Easy to update drivers. See if this issue persists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you’re using F-Secure SAFE<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you’re using F-Secure SAFE, you may run into this issue. To resolve it, please add dow1.drivereasy.com<\/strong> and dow2.drivereasy.com<\/strong> to the allowed webistes list<\/strong> in F-Secure SAFE. Here’s how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1) Open F-Secure SAFE and navigate to the Tools<\/strong> tab. Then click Allowed and denied websites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2) Click Add…<\/strong>, enter dow1.drivereasy.com<\/strong> and click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3) Follow step 2) to add dow2.drivereasy.com<\/strong>. Then click Close<\/strong> to save the allowd websites list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Normally, you can download and update drivers with Driver Easy after adding the two domains above to the exception list of F-Secure SAFE. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What to do if I’m not using the antivirus software above?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
