  4. Back up and restore your drivers using Driver Easy<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Method 1: Back up your drivers in Command Prompt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    You can back up your drivers using DISM<\/strong> (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As a command line tool built into Windows 8 and later versions of Windows systems, it is often used to service and prepare Windows images. As a nifty tool, it can also be used to scan and repair Windows images. And of course, it can also be used to back up your drivers! Here is how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Create a new folder in your local disk drive (D:) or one of any other drives that have not installed Windows 10. Then\u00a0rename<\/strong>\u00a0it to\u00a0Drivers Backup<\/strong>. In this example, I will create a folder in my\u00a0local disk drive (D:)<\/strong>\u00a0and call it\u00a0Drivers Backup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. On your keyboard, press\u00a0the Windows logo key<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0R<\/strong>\u00a0at the same time to open the Run dialog. Type\u00a0cmd<\/strong>\u00a0and then press\u00a0Ctrl<\/strong>,\u00a0Shift<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Enter<\/strong>\u00a0at the same time\u00a0to run Command Prompt as administrator<\/strong>. You\u2019ll be prompted for permission. Click\u00a0Yes<\/strong>\u00a0to open\u00a0Command Prompt<\/strong>.
      \"\"<\/figure><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. In Command Prompt, type the following command line and press\u00a0Enter<\/strong>:

      dism \/online \/export-driver \/destination:”D:\\Drivers Backup”<\/strong>

      NOTE: If you created the folder with the name \u201cDrivers Backup\u201d in your local disk drive (E:), you should type the command line dism \/online \/export-driver \/destination:”E:\\Drivers Backup”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. When the process is completed, you\u2019ll see the message:

    5. Now you can go to the\u00a0Drivers Backup<\/strong>\u00a0folder to view the backup of all the drivers.

      Method 2: Back up your drivers in Powershell<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      You can also back up your drivers in Powershell<\/strong>, but the command line is a little bit different. It is also very easy! Follow the instructions below to back up your drivers in Powershell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Powershell<\/strong> is a command line tool similar to Command Prompt. It was initially developed by Microsoft and now it has become an open-source project. Powershell is not only available in Windows but also in Mac OS<\/strong> and Linux<\/strong>.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      1. Create a new folder in your local disk drive (D:) or one of any other drives that have not installed Windows 10. Then\u00a0rename<\/strong>\u00a0it to\u00a0Drivers Backup<\/strong>.       2. On your keyboard, press\u00a0the Windows logo key<\/strong>\u00a0and type\u00a0powershell<\/strong>. In the list of search results,\u00a0right-click<\/strong>\u00a0Windows Powershell<\/strong>\u00a0and select\u00a0Run as administrator<\/strong>. You\u2019ll be prompted for permission. Click\u00a0Yes<\/strong>\u00a0to run Powershell as administrator.

      3. In Powershell, type the following command line and press\u00a0Enter<\/strong>:

        Export-WindowsDriver -Online -Destination “D:\\Drivers Backup”<\/strong>

        How to restore a driver backup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        In Device Manager<\/strong>, you can manually restore your drivers’ backups one by one. Here is how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. On your keyboard, press\u00a0the Windows logo key<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0X\u00a0<\/strong>at the same time. Then select\u00a0Device Manager<\/strong>. You\u2019ll be prompted for permission. Click\u00a0Yes<\/strong>\u00a0to open\u00a0Device Manager<\/strong>.

        2. Right-click<\/strong>\u00a0the device you want to restore a driver backup for, then select\u00a0Update driver<\/strong>.

        4. Click\u00a0Browse\u2026<\/strong>\u00a0to locate your\u00a0Drivers Backup folder<\/strong>.\u00a0Click the box<\/strong>\u00a0next to\u00a0Include subfolders<\/strong>. Then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.

        5. Windows will begin to search the\u00a0Drivers Backup<\/strong>\u00a0folder and restore the driver for this device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        6. Close the window when the process is completed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Method 3: Back up and restore your drivers using Driver Easy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          If you don’t feel comfortable playing with those command lines, or if you don\u2019t have time, patience or computer skills to back up<\/strong>, restore<\/strong> or update<\/strong> your drivers, you can, instead, do it automatically with Driver Easy<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can click\u00a0the default path<\/strong>\u00a0to change it. Then click\u00a0Back up<\/strong>\u00a0to back up the drivers you select.
